Beefcake of the Week: Ryan Gosling

So, for a few minutes, you were thinking this might be a serious music blog. But then I go and post something like this.

First,
never think this is a serious music blog. Second, before you get your panties all in a wad because this guy isn't holding a guitar, let me explain.

In 2009, Ryan Gosling and his friend, Zach Shields, put out an album under the band name Dead Man's Bones. It's a playfully creepy little thing, its mournful backdrop perpetuated by the delightfully sorrowful voices of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music Children's Choir, appearing in photos dressed in little Halloween costumes.

I know what you're thinking. What a relief that he's actually a musician, right? It's like when Rick found out Terry was a girl in that movie Just One of the Guys and no wonder he'd been attracted to her and he really wasn't gay after all! Okay. Never mind.

And let's not neglect the other half of this dynamic duo - Zach Shields. I mean, D-A-M-N. Seeing them live must be quite the gunshow if you know what I mean. What is it about forearm tats? Lord, I need a cold shower.

Check out the album here (and yes, it's a link to myspace, quitcherbitchen.) It's been on repeat in my car for the last 2 weeks and I can't even ogle them when I'm in the car. So it's amazing. Just trust me on this.
